In the first U.S. census, 1790
In 1790, Myrick was counted together with Merrick: 143 families in all.
Each family is counted by its head. About 802 people lived in those households, 5.6 to a family on average. The census counted these spellings together: Merrick, Merack, Meragh, Merick, Merricks, Merrik, Mirach, Mireck, Mirich, Mirick, Miriek, Mirrick, Myrick. The table lists white heads of families only, in the twelve states whose 1790 records survive; Virginia’s figures come from state lists of 1782–1785.
