Sample shown: the Johnson arms. Yours will be composed for your family name.

Materials

Your family coat of arms is printed at 16 × 20 inches on museum-grade archival paper with rich, fade-resistant inks, so the fine lines of the shield, the tinctures and the lettering of your family name stay sharp and hold their colour for years. Choose it unframed, or ready to hang in a solid wood, black or white frame behind glass.

Design

We carefully recreate your family coat of arms using trusted heraldic references, paying close attention to proportion, colour, and clarity so every symbol is easy to appreciate. The layout is designed to look balanced and timeless, whether it's displayed in a study, living room, or office. Every element is chosen to highlight your family name and turn your heritage into something you can see, share, and be proud of every day.

Research

We compose a coat of arms for your surname from published heraldic reference material, following the historical rules by which arms were built — the divisions of the shield, the tinctures, and the charges placed upon them. Arms were granted to individuals rather than to surnames, so this is a coat of arms historically associated with the name. No direct genealogical connection to your family or ancestry is implied or intended.

Personalization

All we need is your surname, and the country your family came from if you know it — leave it blank and we work from the name alone. You do not need to know anything about heraldry, and you do not need to know your family history. If your family already has arms of its own, choose “I have my Family Coat of Arms” and upload the artwork with your order — a photo, a scan or a PDF — and we will print those instead.

The Heritage Scroll (Included)

Every order includes The Heritage Scroll, a personalized PDF sent to your email: the reading of your name, the reason behind every choice on your arms — the field, the colours, the metal and the charge — the blazon and your motto, closing with a signed Certificate of Composition. The print is shipped to your door; the scroll is digital and arrives by email.

A Coat Of Arms Made For One Name

The arms in these photographs were composed for the Johnson family. Yours will not look like them. We compose a coat of arms for the surname you enter — the division of the shield, the tinctures, the charge that sits on it — and print it at 16 × 20 inches on museum-grade archival paper. Up close you can see the grain of the paper and the depth of the moulding around it.

The Piece People Stop And Ask About

It ends up in a hallway, a study, above a desk. What happens there is always the same: someone stops, reads the name and asks where it comes from. That is what makes it work as a gift for a father, a grandfather or a couple starting out — it gives a family something to point at, and a reason to tell the rest.

FAQs

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes — we offer worldwide shipping. Production time is typically 7–10 business days, plus shipping time depending on your location.

Can I send you my own coat of arms?

Absolutely. We will cross-reference it with heraldic records. If you want the exact design you provide, we can reproduce it faithfully.

I don’t know much about my family history. Can I still buy?

Yes — you don’t need to know your full history. Our team will research and prepare everything for you, using heraldic sources and registries.

What size are the framed coats of arms?

Our standard framed design is 16 x 20 inches— a striking display piece for home or office.

Do you offer discounts for packages?

We don’t discount multiple orders, but we often include special gifts with package purchases as a thank you.

Are coats of arms the same as family crests?

Not exactly. The crest is just one element (the symbol above the helmet), while the coat of arms refers to the full design — shield, crest, supporters, and motto.

Are your coats of arms legally recognized?

Our designs are based on historical heraldic sources and registries, but official legal recognition depends on country and heraldic authority (for example, the College of Arms in England or the Chief Herald of Ireland).

Do you customize the design?

Yes. If you want to add your family motto, change colors, or create a modern interpretation, we can personalize the artwork while preserving heraldic accuracy.
